It started when two colleagues were feeling stressed-out, overworked and tired. Tired of the humdrum, the banal, and the running-around. After more than 22 years of building long-lasting relationships in the Real Estate and Home Construction/Remodeling Industries, two pals decided they could bring their knowledge and experience across the Atlantic and break ground in a new land.
Home is an idea we take with us wherever we go
The goal was to be able to start a new endeavor doing what we love. Since the pandemic more and more Americans were moving abroad to warmer climates in the pursuit of an easier way of life. Europe was always on the radar but Portugal was very mysterious. The fact that palm trees, a California climate and a rich and diverse culture were major features of the country made further investigation required. The proximity to other European and even African countries also made Portugal very appealing and an exciting and exotic location for a new home.
Since planting roots here in Portugal several years ago we’ve discovered a land so unique and largely untouched. A culture well preserved and a society comfortable in the midst of change. A country where time seemingly stands still and the old-world is very much still alive. A rustic land thriving in its newfound modernity. It was natural that the sea-changes brought us to these shores. This is exactly what we sought after.

The foundation my colleague and I built with our businesses in the U.S. was based on trust and professionalism. This foundation enabled us to seek an exciting new life where we could apply our abilities in a country that offers an improved quality of life for expats. Along with a better way of living we also discovered an emerging real estate market, one full of opportunities.
Then we noticed we weren’t the only Americans looking for a new way of living or to buy a house in Portugal. And we weren’t all located in the Algarve, we were everywhere. We met surfers, digital nomads, silver-haired retirees on the Silver Coast, and most recently, disgruntled federal employees. Americans have been looking for an improved quality of life and have found it in Portugal. But these soon to be ex-pats had questions on topics ranging from building a house in Portugal, Portuguese real estate agent practices, even Portuguese real estate tax law.
Upon arrival we immersed in everything to do with Portuguese home market and in doing so, noticed the way things are done here is, let’s just say, a little different than how they are done in the U.S. Working in the best interests of our clients is our natural mode and being able to advise fellow countrymen during a major life move is a great privilege.
